This is the GIANT FRESHWATER PUFFER, in the wild this fish can exceed 3 ft, although in captivity specimens generally attain 2 ft. Buyers must be aware of this stunning fish's potential size.

Mbu Puffer's are a wonderful fish if housed in a sensible sized aquarium. They have unique personalities and truly become a family pet. They are very intelligent and appear to interact with their owners as they walk past the aquarium. Mine have always been very tolerant all kinds of fish large and small. They need well aerated aquariums with extremely good quality water. Puffers do not tolerate any Ammonia or Nitrite in the water. They feed on crustations in the wild but are happy to eat, snails, prawns, mussels and cockles, crab meat in captivity.
