Grindal worms make a fantastic supplementary food for all tropical fish and are especially good for conditioning your fish for breeding. Once you have a culture of your own there is no reason why you would ever need to buy Grindal worms again - it's a constant source of practically free food for your fish and believe us - your fish will thank you for it! Fish go crazy for wriggly live foods, and Grindal worms are no exception.
What's so cool about live food? Well, we at AquaGrub are passionate about live food - an all natural, protein rich source of food for fish. You know where it's come from and you know exactly what it is - there are no hidden chemicals or other nasties, just quality nutrition. Not only that but live foods make a great source of entertainment for your fish (and for you as you watch) who will literally hunt down their dinner!
Why Choose Grindal Worms? The smaller brother of the hugely popular White Worm has a wealth of benefits: They Can survive under water for 24hours or more, providing stimulation for your fish as they sniff them out. Their small adut size (around 1cm) makes them ideal for even the tiniest of fish! Quality source of protein - ideal for conditioning fish for breeding. Fish love them! (this is a fact)They reproduce VERY quickly. Expect your culture to grow x10 in just 28 days! They are easy to culture, care for and maintain - it's free food for life!
AquaGrub Starter cultures = No nasty mites! Our starter cultures are guaranteed pest free!
Our live foods are completely organic! They are fed only natural ingredients and are cultured in organic only matter - no chemicals added. All deliveries are by 1st Class - these are live animals, we do not advocate them being stuck in transit for days on end! We are passionate about live aquarium foods! Every fish-keeper should have them and we want them to be easily accessible for all!
What's included with my purchase? Starter culture mix of mature worms, eggs and the compost they live in, bagged and ready to go. Written guide on how best to culture your worms.
What else will I need? A clean plastic container (like a take-away tub), compost, a food source (kat biscuits or porridge) IT'S THAT EASY!
This bit is really important: When you receive your starter culture there may not appear to be many worms - this is because they will hide in the soil when subjected to the light. It's also worth noting that most pictures on the internet and on ebay show 'mature cultures' - large clusters of white/grindal worms hunched up together. This is a starter culture made up of a mix of adult / juvenile worms and eggs and can take upto 28 days to become a mature culture. Do not start harvesting the worms for fish feeding until your culture is mature! Patience is a virtue and you will reap the rewards later! We have to point this out as other sellers have received negative feedback from customers expecting a fully mature culture! Please also note - worms are a live creature, without the right care they will die!
