Hi, I am looking to rehome my beautiful Sailfin Pleco to the right experienced home after years as I am reluctantly giving up fishkeeping.
We have called her Plocky, she is approx 12-13 inches long and in healthy condition with no fin damage. I believe that she is female although I cannot guarentee this. She is a little shy and loves cucumber, jumbo shrimps, lettuce, Bloodworm & Hikari Algae Wafers. She will need a mixed diet and not just the tank algae.
Bogwood is a must as they use this to rasp on & it helps their digestive system and also for shelter to hide. I am happy to supply the bogwood she is currently using and any remaining food if required.
She still has some growing to do & can reach up to 20+ inches, therefore she requires a 6ft minimum tank with a large depth & width to turn - preferably a 7ft-12ft tank so she can swim freely.
She needs to be the only Plec in the tank as adults are territorial & would need to go in with larger fish.
I am very attached to her and I need to ensure that she is going to a suitable home with an experienced fishkeeper where she will be well cared for, for the remainder of her life. I do not under any circumstances want her to be sold on or passed around and moved about. It would be a bonus to know how she is getting on as she will be greatly missed.
You will need to collect & bring your own polystyrene box or suitable large container with lid, alternately I will consider a short journey depending on where you live.
I will not post her under any circumstances.
