For sale x2 Malawi Eye Biters or Dimidiochromis Compressiceps
Very lovely looking fish, almost prehistoric with a jaw almost 1/3 of its length. Predator, extremely fast and needs a large space to be able to swim, also requires some tall plants to feel comfortable.
One is definitely male, has grown much larger than the other (almost twice the size) and has maturing male colourings (red fins and blue scales) sized around 5 inches long, the other about half the size silver with the dark streak.
These are pretty rare, I had to order them in to my local aquatic shop and they were just fry at 1cm long and not cheap! However, they do need more room than I have to offer in my tank (at least 300 litres) and I'm turning my tank to frontosa only so they do need to go to a good home.
Despite the name, these fish have never got close to biting any of my other fish, they are pretty shy and only chase each other around! I have had them in the tank with frontosa fry and they haven't ever tried to eat / attack any of them.
