Description:
The Ancistrus has a pleco-like appearance but it does not grow as big (12cm on average). They have a light-spotted, dark body with a white stripe running down their tales. The males are most striking with a long bristle beard of protuberances! These are extremely peaceful fish, but do chase one-another when they are about to breed.
These fish are the brilliant algae-eaters and do not tear up plants.
I have bred these Ancistrus from pair in a well established (4yrs) 2 1/2ft species aquarium and some of the offspring are now in a lushly planted 3ft aquarium. None of the 50 fish are showing any illness, they are in full colour and unbelievably, none yet have died.
Please email for pictures of my aquariums and fish or if you have any questions.
These fish are for sale at £1 each/ swap or best offer for a quantity.
I live In Buckingham but will deliver for swaps/ quantities if you live nearby (Milton Keynes, Bicester, Northampton, Aylesbury).
