Feeding Fry
New-born fry have tiny mouths and huge appetites! They empty their stomachs every 20 minutes! Of course, it is not wise or feasible to feed them this often. Feed your fry as often as you can (small amounts 4-8 times a day is ideal).
Newly hatched and just into the aquarium, fry are indeed very small and helpless. They need to be maintained with much care in order to see them safely into adulthood. They need excellent water quality and extra security, as the fry are often delicious food for the other carnivores in your aquarium. It is often a good idea to enclose the fry separately. Feeding the fry with live bearer powderpaste will see growth rates relative to feeding live foods like brine shrimp.
