Description:
Complete established marine aquarium setup with specialist equipment and lots of living rock.
The tank itself is a Rio 240 which is 48” long by 16” deep by 20” high and hold 240 litres and is just the right size to give the larger space for more fish etc but small enough to not take up half the room.
Lighting
It originally came with the stock twin standard florescent tube lighting lid but this has been replaced with the high quality Arcadia Overtank Luminair lighting system with 4 T5 high output lamps on dual switches for 2 day bulbs and 2 night bulbs. Unit is fitted with 2 white bulbs and 2 blue marine night bulbs which make the florescent fish etc glow. Can also supply with original Rio lighting system
Skimmer
The setup includes a Red Sea Prizm protein skimmer which hangs on the back of the tank and takes out all the organic waste leaving the tank crystal clear.
Filters
Also included is a Rena FilStar external canister filter unit which delivers high power filtering through 3 compartments currently holding a fine poly pad and a bag of anti phosphate chips in the top then a fine carbon pad in the middle the lastly a course carbon pad of which all have been well established and will be hosts to large colonies of the bacteria need to brake down the ammonia and nitrates produced by the break down of waste
Also in the tank is the corner unit that comes with the Rio range of tanks which has the same filter media setup but without the phosphate chips. The internal filter has been running since I bought the tank several years ago and so will be very well established and the external canister has been in operation for about the last year and so will be well established too.
I still have the boxes for most of the extra equipment if wanted
Also included are extra parts such as an air pump currently not in use and some testing equipment as well as siphon hose, 2 x 5 gallon barrels for treated water etc
Livestock
All the live stock has been bought from a single trusted supplier and currently in the tank I have a large collection of living rock amassing to 25-35kg in about 12 bits ranging from about 2-4kg and two larger pieces probably about 6 or 7kg all of which is very decorative with colonies of small coral and plants. In the tank I have;
2 black clown fish of which one is about 3/3.5” and the other is 1.5/2” and although seemed to quibble with each other at first but now seem to get along and make a nice feature in the tank as the larger one swims in the anemone
A 3/3.5” Panther Polkadot grouper which is an amazing fish with its beautiful Polkadot pattern and long thin body with large fins
A beautiful regal tang as seen in a popular movie last year which adds a wonderful bright blue colour to the reef look of the tank
I also have a green carpet anemone with varies in size depending on its water absorption cycle but it ranges from 3-4” to 7-8” in diameter and goes amazingly with the clown fish as they rustle in it.
