Description:
UK bred ivanacara bimaculata Interesting and rarely available South American dwarf cichlid from Guyana. Scientifically identified in 1912 then re introduced into the hobby in 2019 Less aggressive and slightly smaller than the closely related Ivanacara adoketa zebra acara . These are a black water fish but adapted to UK tap water. They are pretty robust but will require a soft acidic environment for breeding. Males show blue gold, orange and red while females slightly smaller with a white ventral tube. Colour and pattern changes with mood and ambient lighting. Nice breeding project Still rare in the UK.
