Description:
just gauging if there is any interest in these lovely little dwarf South American cichlids, still pretty rare in the UK hobby. These small fish are related to the better known Ivanacara adoketa which is a little bigger and a tad more narky.
Bimaculata come from Guyana and can be kept in a community tank where there are no slow moving or long finned fish. water parameters dont seem to be a issue unless you want to breed them where a low ~5.0 pH will trigger spawning. Food they arn't fussy eating anything offered. They are a blackwater fish so a suitable set up to reflect these conditions will show them to their best. Males take on brilliant blue flashes and a reddish belly and head while the females lesser blues but a crimson/red/pink belly.
Anyone interested in these lovely little fish i have young growing on at present currently unsexable .
