The EACG is very pleased to announce that our guest speaker will be Thomas Andersen, who lives in Skandersborg Denmark with his wife and two children. He has been a keen aquarist since early childhood and got his first cichlids when he was just ten. He quickly developed an interest in the cichlids from Lake Tanganyika, keeping various species of shell dwellers, cave dwellers and Tropheus. For the last twenty years Thomas has specialised in the sand dwelling cichlids of Lake Tanganyika, maintaining and breeding most of the species.
Since 2006 he has been interested in Xenotilapia species that occur in deep water in the lake. This has led him to expand this interest with other deep water species such as Trematocara, Bathybates and Limnochromis. Thomas is currently maintaining a fish room with around 7000 litres of water.
His presentation, which in two parts, is entitled “Deep water cichlids from Lake Tanganyika”.
Part 1:- “Xenotilapia”
Part 2:- “Limnochromines”
The duration of both lectures is about 80 minutes. More details to follow nearer the time and there will be an auction as usual.
Catering will be available throughout the day.
